Course: Functional Safety Engineer
Because an instrumented safety system (SIS) can drastically reduce the risk of accidents in an installation, we believe that the Roconsult Tech team needs to know and apply international standards on functional safety.
This knowledge may result in the avoidance of potential incidents that may affect people, property, and the environment in the facility.
That’s why Roconsult Tech currently has 6 TÜV-certified engineers for functional safety who can offer you:
Risk assessment studies (HAZOP application or other common methods);
SIL location and SIL verification
Safety requirements specification;
Design verification SIS performed by other engineering companies;
Consultancy for SIS maintenance;
The main objective is to provide all engineers involved in safety instrumented systems with basic and necessary knowledge of functional safety, based on the international functional safety standards IEC 61508 and IEC 61511. A second objective is to provide any participant in the course the possibility of confirming its competence in the field of functional safety confirmed by TÜV Rheinland upon passing the examination.

Tino is an expert in FS (TÜV Rheinland, ID no. 109/05) and trainer for safety instrumented systems (SIS) in the TÜV Rheinland Functional Safety Program as an accepted course provider. He joined the first year program in 2005 and is currently number 2 on the list of all trainers on the TÜV Rheinland .
